There are various associations with a socio-professional character in Europe and the world. It is these non-governmental professional associations that develop policies and rules for the conduct of training and qualification. Currently there are two international engineering associations uniting the world of welding the public. This is the International Institute of Welding (ISI), founded in 1948, which comprises more than 50 developed countries in the world, and the European Federation for Welding (EFS), founded in 1971 and includes 28 countries in Europe.
For the introduction and provision of operation in each country, member of MIS establishes an authorized national body (ANB). In Russia, NOUDO «Research and Training Center« Testing and Diagnostics » was established in 2001 by the Russian Welding Society (RWS) and is recognized as the International Institute of Welding authorized the National Authority for qualification of welding personnel - - with the right of issuing diplomas international standard, recognized by in all industrialized countries around the world. MIS and the EFS, in collaboration with the ISO, was created A Global Harmonized System of training, qualification and certification of welding personnel of production, was created within MIS and the EFS. It is based on compliance with the requirements of standards ISO 9000, ISO 14000, ISO 3834 / EN 729 and ISO 14731 / EN 719 for the production of welded structures and certification of welding in the production in the area of the personnel certification.
