 Steel Groups on ISO TR 15608 1.1., 1.2., 1.3., 1.4. Evaluation criteria for welder competence: age of at least 18 years, requirements for special training - at least 120 hours of training in production welding, requirements to a state of vision and passing the qualification exam. Qualifying Exam consists of theoretical and practical examinations.
Qualifying exam begins with a practical part in which the candidate must demonstrate practical skills in the preparation and assembly of parts for welding, in the process of welding components in compliance with necessary requirements and safety rules in performing the controlling weld on a given map process.
If the conditions of welded joints are satisfactory, a practical examination deemed to be passed, and welder is admitted to the theoretical examination. If the welder fails the practical examination, then he is not allowed to sit the theoretical exam, and is not certified.
At a theoretical examination welder may be asked only those questions that correspond to the direction of his work and that the welding process, in which he is certified. If a certified welder is certified on two methods of welding at the same time, on the theoretical examination he must be asked specific questions for each of the welding process.
